All That Is Interesting - The First Zombie-Proof House
I thought it was pretty funny. Tho not somewhere I'd want to live in the current Zombie climate.

Though, really, it is a bit excessive. I dont think real zombies have superstrength or anything that some hurricane doors couldnt stop.

The bears will take care of the zombies during the summer, spring and fall, and will be hybernating for snowboarding season. |

Or... now just bare with me here.. Or, you can just have wood already cut to the size of your windows (and some screws), near every window in your home, and always have a battery to that cordless drill charged.
I mean.. it would take a matter of minutes and you'd be fortified.
That said, I'd be all about sniping some zombies from the highest buildings I could find. Zombies aren't going to travel 30 flights of stairs to get to someone. Clear the building first. Cover your entrances. Lock up. yeah..

Sniping is loud, which will alert other zombies. You'll need a lot of ammo to keep going with doing that. By holding up in a tall building, you better make sure you have food and supplies to last you as well.
And you really need to cover your entrances. A building like that is likely to have multiple ways to get in, plus windows on the bottom floors that are breakable, especially given all the attention you're likely to give off.
Don't underestimate zombies to think they won't travel to track you down. If they get into the building, they'll try to find anything living in it.
Sorry if I'm busting your chops haha I just like thinking out strategies.. there's no best way to do it. Back in college we would always talk about where the best places on campus/in town to hold up would be. |

But, zombies are, generally speaking, dumb and if you're up on a 30 story building, sniping ( okay, with a silencer) then I don't think they'd figure out very quickly how to get in, or with all of the echo off of other buildings, where you are in the first place.
Oh, and if we're speaking ideally here, I'd have a few pre-loaded automatics at my side, a shotgun, knife, and for the hell of it, a katana... because, I mean.. if you're down to your katana, you're going to probably die anyway so you might as well die having some fun, hacking off zombie limbs. And you'll look like a badass doing it.
