Baseball and Bass Boys or, do they ever work really?

Nick Lloyd and Uncletoad (Phil Maneri) playing hooky from luthing at the Reds/Giants game Thursday afternoon in Cincinnati.

Nothing quite like a hotdog and some summer sunshine at the ballpark.

Notice no basses or tools of any kind anywhere nearby.

Ah yeah, good clean fun.

Nnick looks a little less frightening than he did in that pic when he was rolling around on the floor at ISB.

That was actually a jig for holding and dispensing fermented grain beverages. There is an article in a recent B.L.A-B.L.A journal about this...

Final score: Reds over Giants, 4-2.

I thought you used those for hand stretching exercises before/during/after a gig?

That'd be elbow excercises. If yer elbow seizes up you'll die of thirst.

Playing Hookey a slight return

Or playing hockey? Another sporting day in the Land of Cows this time with the Blue Jackets and the LA Kings.

Jackets coming back from a 3 to 1 deficit to win 7 to 4. Fantastic.

Followed up by a set at the Ravari Room with Tony Monaco at the Hammond B3.

Really great.

(Stupidly, I didn't buy the nice german bass David recommended, but that's a whole 'nother story).

Anyway, for lunch, my teacher and I went out for chili. He ordered me a bowl of "5-way." I looked down at it and said "This is chili?" Spaghetti? Cinnamon?

Delicious!

The Chili reference is actually for Wendy's chili. Because the Bluejackets suck, the Columbus fans get a free chili w/a ticket stub at Wendy's if the Bluejackets sink the puck 3 times in one game.

In regards to 3,4, and 5 way chili... I recently found out that a regular 3 way has 900 calories and 80% of your daily sodium intake. Heart stopping fun!

Ouch! Nnick, you should spend more time at the Potluck instead....I'm happy to have you as close by as Cincy and I'd like to see you make it to 35 for selfish reasons.

And they are 3 for 3

"And this one belongs to the Reds."

Once again we are undefeated. Invite us to your next pro sporting event to be sure of a win. All expenses paid of course.

What the hell is that in your ear anyhow?
