Sorry guys but without question the finest taco on the face of the earth is
Los Quatros Milpas in the Barrio Logan under the Coronado Bridge.
They make this salsa with roasted chilies and tripe (I kid you not) that people come up from TJ and down from LA to buy by the 32oz cup.
If you’re ever in San Diego do yourself a huge favor and check it out.
Definitely not kosher they use LARD by the gallon, their signature dish along with pork tacos is a Chorizo Mole Chile… dang I’m getting hungry

Best Fish Taco......oo-la-la, the best is on Maui in the mountain hamlet of Makawao. It's kinda hard to swing by there if you live on the Mainland though!

Polli's? Not bad, good place overall.... there are some newer places that are better, IMHO. Milagro's in Pa'ia is excellent.... you better be hungry, because they're capable of feeding you within an inch of your life. Fish tacos..... there's Jaws Tacos in Kihei, and a little wood-fired taco stand here in tiny Ha'iku town that's outstanding. There's also Maui Tacos, which is a chain started by my friend Chef Mark Ellman.... he's started opening them on the mainland, check them out! He's a great guy... he used to hire me and other jazz musicians for his great Avalon restaurant in Lahaina.
