Red face I slept with...

...my bass bag.

Along with a couple of sweaters it made for a pretty decent sleeping pad (read: rats nest) in a fix. I'm sure im not the first who's been their. One can tell these sorts of things by the softness and general vibe of the whole situation.

I seem to remember waking up inside a gig bag with my head just sticking out but that one is fuzzy. The only clear memory of the ordeal is the laughter of the people who found me.

I've done the same.

Just open it all the way up and splay it out on the floor. Pretty comfy. Bass sits on the floor somewhere else.

Just in the practice space. I had a few too many pops but had taken the sleep stuff out of my car so was left to improv. It was fine but not exactly what I had woken up at 5:00 every other morning of the week for.

Like I say the memory of sleeping in the bag is pretty vauge but 95% real. I'll ask the guys but yea...Fetal position in the bag seems like a pretty reasonble sceario all bleary eyed. A bunch of dudes losing their **** laughing at you tends to leave a lasting memory despite other factors.

This must be where the old saying,"he's in the bag" came from.

Bass bags are very versatile. In a movie project I was involved in (48-Hour Film Project), part of the plot involved a body hidden in one.

I'd have to get a 9/8 bass if I was going to fit into the gig bag .

Kowald used to do it. He would take naps in it back stage, I saw him do it durring the run of a dance performance I was involved in with him, and in his film "Off the Road" it shows him in a field doing it.

I've done that before back when I was in high school. It was surprisingly comfortable right up until my friends decided to zip me up all the way.

I did that once. But I was very drunk. It wasn't as comfortable as it looked at first.
