Jake Hanna

For the umpteenth time over many years, today I put on one of many CD's wherein the drummer is Jake Hanna. The swing that man generates with just a high-hat and a ride blows me away.
I'll only mention one other drummer here, not to make a comparative value judgement but to illustrate what I'm getting at.
The drummer on Silver's recording of The Preacher is Art Blakey. Different style, certainly, but the point is his similar ability to generate monstrous swing with a high-hat and a ride.
On up-tempos, both men somehow make the time so comfortable you can underestimate how brisk the tempo is.
As either the bassist or a solo horn, it has to be a ball to have Jake in the band.
I just felt like speaking up. A search here shows no mention of Jale Hanna in the last two years.
