Name my cat!

i'm getting a new cat in the not so distant future (probably a week or two)... Well I want to name it with a reference to the bass. My first idea was Jaco. That's what I wanted to name my first pet.. but maybe you guys can come up with other ideas?!

I always like "Kitty Kitty" for a cats name...
easy to remember when you're calling it in from outside

I had a Siamese once.

He earned the name 'JAWS'.

Name it "Mingus"

I have always wanted to name a cat "Mingus" - seems like are really great cat name, don't ya think?

I had a great little black kittie named "Jaco" (R.I.P - both)

Poor little dude only lived for about 5 years before renal failure took him. In this pic you can see the shaved front leg from an emergency vet visit. I kept him going for about a year giving him subcutaneous fluids every night.

Well, ya gotta do it then! If I ever get another kitty, that will definitely be his name.

I suppose you could also consider:
Sting
Squire
Geddy
Macca
Wooten
Geezer
Bootsy

for some reason that has alway struck me as a particularly "cat" name. Not sure why, but it doesn't do the same thing for me when I think of it as dog's name.

Whatever you choose, it will certainly, without a doubt, and I can say this with 100% certainty, be the cat's name.

"Jaco"? I think thats pretty much over-used. Something prettier would be a nice touch.

Female:
Shirley
Tessie
Candy
Pepper
Treble

Male:
Data
Growler
Clef
Farad
Tuner
Maple

Since you asked over here on the Dark Side I'd suggest the following bass names.

Red
Mingus
Blanton
Carter
Lafaro

Or

Bottessini
Simandl

Or

Maginni
Prescott

Or you could just go with the Truman Capote "Cat" from Breakfast at Tiffany's.

As Audry says "some no name slob" etc...

We've had four cats over the last 20 years. Samantha, Felix, Audry, Ashley. None of them bass names.

They all have thanked me for that.

there's also Buster, Ray, George, Red, Blue, Major Holley

and some non bass ones...

Bags, Philly, Toots, etc. etc.

Why can't I remember these names when I want to?

"Meatwad", "Stiny", or "Dr. John Zoidberg" were all runner-up names for my cats. Feel free to use any of them.

They ended up being Nicodemus and Baron Leopold von Becker for those who are interested.

If I ever had a cat, and I never will, I would name it Chairman Meow.

OKay guys, I got a 4 yr old cream colored cat named *drum roll* Mingus! Pics to come. He's a little bitch though. He ignores our other cat growling and hissing, but whenever my fiance an I go to pet him he hisses, swats, and bites. lol but he's adorable, and REALLY cracks out on catnip.
