Actually, I do no fishing at all, which is sacrilege in these parts - I'm surprised at times that fishing isn't the state sport. I was searching for an interesting picture for my avatar and did an image search for "double bass," and this pic popped up. I thought it was kind of funny. By the way, I enjoyed your website, too, I checked it out after I saw the link on this thread. You have been a great source of information for me, and obviously for the others at TB.

Although it's likely going to be a while before I can upgrade my DB situation, I'm a sucker for beautiful new double basses. |

I enjoyed your site very much! I really like that Yew Tailpiece of yours! Interesting wood, looks a lot like curly Bubinga. You present your site in a very knowledgable fashion. I wish I could afford to start playing upright on something a little more well crafted than plywood, but I have the money for neither at the moment.
Keep up the good work! Very educational! |

You're welcome! Live dangerously for once

I don't see a fully accredited Berklee professor moderating here ...
There's a possibility to learn something!
For example that you as a player also are listed at BL (in the players links) ...

That's because you only have to be a fully accredited curmudgeon to moderate here...speaking of which, let's not steal Jeff's Thunder in this thread. I'm inclined to have a soft spot for the aforementioned site since it will be Xavier G's new home after he was run out of TB by the BG OT cretins, but this thread is supposed to be about Jeff.
Welcome to TB, and please fill in your profile when you get a minute.

Seeing what constitutes an "acoustic bass" on your site, I think this is the wrong place for you.

In any case: you remain welcome at BL and if you have some valid remarks/suggestions besides the 'photoconstitutes' kind of communication, we're open for your feedback! Maybe you could help me too the way you're helping Jeff ... ? Well.....maybe not? I certainly didn't get any good vibes out of this, to my sincere regret i had to encounter this cynical and childish behaviour between us bassbro's ... (???) Guess i`m from somewhere else (?)
Respect!
Your bassbro, Jabberwocky
p.s. Jeff, i like your site too! And THAT'S sincere!!!!!

Possibly because of the small size we get and the way it was framed, my eyes were seeing the reddy-brown part as the background with a sort of dark bluey-green "nipple" in the foreground!
Maybe this says more about me than anything else - but I just had to tell somebody!

BTW-some of you fine fellers may have noticed that the rant section of the site is offline. It's up for some revision/addition and it should be up soon. I'll let you know.
Mr J.B. Wock-thanks for the help and compliment.
