Probably more along the lines of a gravitational pulse.

Hey, I like the idea of pulsed gravity! Make it 43Hz and every song would have to be in E!

And Shakin' All Over would've been written in the 10th Century....

They might be looking at the images, seeing density gradients radiating from the center then calculating the frequency based on the assumed image scale and rate of expansion.

B-flat… Coltrane must be up there.
