There was also a movie camera present when that photo was taken (summer '58). Apparently there were a lot of interviews shot. The resulting film was nominated for an academy award for best documentary. I've just bought a VHS copy of it off ebay, and am eagerly awaiting its arrival.

I've got a 36"x24" inch print of that hanging in my dorm. It's quite amazing to think of the circumstances that would produce that grouping of people at one point in time in one place in one city.
