what to do?

I play electric bass, but ive always wanted to learn upright. I used to play cello, so i might be able to trade that in for an upright. Does anyone have any tips on what to do to get started, or a good bass to get?

i didnt know where to put thias thread, so i put it here.

Welcome to the dark side. Start by going to each of the forum topics here in DB and look at the top. You will find a Newbie section in most sections. Read all the threads, search the archives. There is loads of information here. Also check out (all hail) Bob Gollihur's site http://www.urbbob.com/basslink.html. You will find that the universal advice for getting started on or acquiring a DB is to find a DB teacher first.

I could go on but if you read the archives you'll get the picture.
