This is a cool thread! Makes me think we should have a group meeting someday. Nice to put a face with the voice.

What's that you say, Marcus? You're gonna set up free plane tickets to Hawaii for everyone and let us all stay at your place? How nice!

Actually, I fit it in my 98 Volvo V70 quite nicely. I even have room for two Schertler Pub speakers, 2 wheeler, Mackie Mixer, 2 speaker stands, mic stand, and music stand when I'm providing the PA system. Oh, and another player can fit in the front seat if he doesn't bring much gear.

Sucker is heavy as hell though. It destroys bass wheels. Sax player friend is an airline mechanic, and he has welded my Ideal wheel back together a few times.

If you are serious about hearing it, it is the one used on 3 cuts on the
Sampler Page . It is used on the Bob Norris Trio cuts:
Take The "A" Train
Stella By Starlight
Bob's Blues.

Rib Depth: 8.5" (upper bout) 9.5" (lower bout) is the measurements on mine if I remember. What are yours?

Really, I'm only 5'7" and I have no trouble getting around on it, although I don't spend a lot of time in thumb position. Working on that though.

Thanks for the link, I'll listen from work tomorrow (where I have a T-1 line instead of dial-up speed).

In a strange coincidence I am an ex-airline mechanic. Never fixed any bass wheels though. Actually, that gives me an idea, ever thought about a main landing gear from a 727. It's about the right size for that bass and might even stand up to the weight.
