Who here is a school music teacher?

Hi everyone. As I've mentioned once or twice, I'm a public school string/orchestra teacher. I'm in the planning stages of a long-term research project, and I'd like to get an idea of who in this forum is in a similar position (public school string instruction.

Respond to this thread, or shoot me a PM - I may ask you to fill out a questionnaire for me regarding the implementation of your program in your school/district.

Thanks in advance, adn looking forward to hearing from fellow Bassists/teachers!

I'm on my way into that profession...once I finish this semester, take a test, finish my portfolio, and send out my resume to everyone imaginable. The I have to actually get the job.

Hey, that's good to hear - there are lots of good jobs out there for string specialists, especially if you're mobile. Do you know about ASTA? They always seem to have up-to-date listings.

Good luck.

Our friend BBMS is a middle school band director. Where are you, Mark?

I check the ASTA and MNSOTA (Minnesota ASTA chapter) regularly. My orch. director at school gives them a nice plug whenever possible.
