What did you order? The MS Pre pedal or rack?

I ordered the Meatsmoke Pre pedal. The real question is, do I still need my B7K, GT2, and Rat Tail? Given what I use each of them for besides dirt, I say yes. We'll see what the Mrs. has to say about it.

Lol. I know the feeling. I've pretty much sold off most of my dirt (minus my Holy Fire). I also recently purchased a Mesa D180 (gigging it tonight) and ACOUSTIC 330 :O!!! I think im going to run the MS rack through the 330 (2 channel SS). I think its gonna sound killer

I think you still need them those pedals have their own voices and the Meatsmoke will give them a kick in the pants.

+1

The boost is so powerful, it's better to just stomp a dirt pedal and leave the meatsmoke pre to give you thunderous tube tone.

Gigged mine tonight. Several people gave me the "wow, your bass has killer tone" compliment. Thanks Ben!

Now that is sweeeeet !!! It looks like two channels? I actually would prefer that to the boost which I'm not using currently.

Don't worry ZW the wait goes by faster than it seems... I still have an use my rat tail, I would definitely hold into it until your meat gets there.

Been lurking this forum for the last week and finally joined up. Reading through the entire thread (and everything Verellen the internet has to offer) has definitely helped my patience while waiting on my Meat Smoke head that I ordered at the very beginning of December. Just got shipping confirmation this past Friday and it should be here by Friday 2/22.

To finally own one of my own has been my number one goal since I played my friend Greg's Meat Smoke at a show in Springfield, IL March of 2012. I had never heard of the head before and Greg smiled at me as he knew I was in for a treat. From the first note I hit my heart sank and I could not believe how incredible it sounded. From that moment I knew I had to own one and the year end sale sealed the deal. Ben was incredibly nice throughout the entire build and it's very awesome to see that reflected in everyone else's posts concerning their own dealings with him.

Welcome! I'm still (im)patiently waiting for my rack preamp... reading people's reviews here has been the only thing keeping me sane through this whole ordeal.

After a couple sitdowns and messing around with gain and different effects, I'd say an additional dirt pedal is a must to get the best sound out of it. I'm missing the pure crunchy growl I got out of my B3K.

A little test I did. Playings kinda meh but wanted to see how the Record Out sounded. I'm still dialing in the right sound but here's what I got so far

https://soundcloud.com/snorkeldork/meatsmoke-ds1-oxide

Running a Dillion Thunderbird into MXR M87-->Boss LS-2 with Boss DS-1 in loop-->IE Oxide--> Meatsmoke Pre into an Oade Edirol R-44

DS-1 won't sit as my main dirt, I'm back to square 1 trying to figure out of I do want to go B3K again or if I want to go Rat Tail. So many decisions >.<

That is gnarly (good gnarly) my friend. As of now, I am planning to run: Bass->MB Compressore->B7K with parallel out to MS and into the effects look of my M6 Carb. The B7K effected channel will feed the rest of my pedals and go into the front of the M6. I really like the clean tube grit without the boost from what I have heard so far. I think I will leave the heavier grit to the GT2 and Rat Tail.

Thanks I'll record more with the high gain settings later in the week, got a Zoom B3 on the way I'll toss into the mix with some of the better grit settings people have put out there.

oooh Red looks good... I'm contemplating painting mine now. I'm having a love/hate relationship with the standard birch stain

If I had any foresight at all I should have had Ben stain my big spider in yellow so it would resemble a beer. That would have made for a handsome and delicious combo.
