Exclamation **Boss MT-2 Metal Zone Demo**

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been coughing up blood lately, so my voice sounds a little weirder than usual (which may be hard to imagine). Anyway, I ran direct from my amp to a mixer, then into my soundcard. After seeing someone rave about the HM-2, I figured that I'd just do a quick demo of the MT-2 as well. What I always liked about it is how much bark it has. Feel free to ask any questions.

Video.

I always wondered when this pedal would be at least mentioned among the low end.

IMO, when it is used with a guitar, it is not gig-worthy. Too heavy, even for metal.. too chaotic.. Has a tendency of wrecking the entire mix. But with bass, it really has good harmonics to it with lots of gain. Heavy yet clear.

Yeah... It hasn't been a very happy week. I was actually trying to record vocals right when the cough started.

Man, the more I listen to it, the more I don't wanna sell it. It's the closest I've come to nailing that Young Widows sound. Bah!

Hmm... I don't remember my ol' Metal Zone sounding as good as you've got yours sounding.

Perhaps I should whip it out again. I just remember tone suck being overpowering.

Nope, no tone-suck here. Just a raunchy, biting, barking distortion.

Positive. You're welcome to buy it and tear it apart to make sure, though.

My guitarist uses one and that thing is a feedback machine. Noise surpressor is a must have with this guy.

EDIT: On guitar that is, it sounds great on bass.

Comparing this video and your video of the Heavy Metal, I'm gonna have to say I'd rather have the Heavy Metal. Now... Where to find money...

The MT-2 was on a poor setting the HM-2 video... I'd compare cross-videos rather than within.

I did cross compare, it seemed as if the HM was a clearer distortion than the MT-2

I'd disagree. The MT-2 can have much more clarity with that sweepable mid knob. It's a lot sharper than the HM-2, which does a lot bigger, deeper distortion tones.
