Spanky stepping over into my domain...You're always welcome here...but it might kill you to get good tones out of non-boutique pedals

Well, I'm ditching this to hopefully get a Boss DC-3... Still not boutique.

However, I am very glad that I got this chorus before dropping a ton of cash on a "boutique" chorus. I don't want a mini-flange pedal... I want something to make it seem like there are more than one of me, so I'm opting for a "doubler," similar to the DC-3.

The 18v version makes all the difference, doesn't it? It's all I'll ever use. What I've come to know of Danelectro pedals is that they are indeed fine-sounding pedals, but they really shine when they are in conjunction with another equivalent pedal - for more information, read the most recent post in my study of the Danelectro Psycho Flange, the appropriately-titled "Danelectro Psycho Flange." I have yet to use the 18v Cool Cat with a different chorus, but that's because I won't settle for anything less than a Polychorus, and they're nigh impossible to find in Madison. I'll check out some shops in Chicago, which, considering my brother is set to move there today, might be feasible.

I've never had the opportunity to try a 9v version. How do they compare?

the 9v is newer and cheaper... they sound similar but the 18v is better and stronger

Buy your 18 volt? I agree, it's in my top 5 fav chorus pedals.
