*Barracuda* by Heart- guitar intro: what effect?

Sign in to disble this ad
An old band that gets together once a year is going to TRY to cover this classic(I'm very apprehensive as I HATE to do these things unconvincingly); IMO the phaser/flanger/whatever it is on the guitar in the intro is CRUCIAL to this tune- does anyone know w/relative certainty what it is?

Cool- I have an old DOD FX75B(or maybe -C); dunno if I'll be able to get gtr-boy to sport it though- he's VERY much one of those *I don't like to change my tone* guys.

The DOD FX75B and FX72 are both great flangers and should be able to cop that tone, no problem. But if he really wants to be authentic, then yeah, check out the Toadworks.

Thanks, Chief- but I may need to to put a gun to the dude's head to get him to even consider using my pedal- he's that bad(attitude-wise; he's very capable but will NOT think outside of his box ). Thing is, he's the one bugging to do the song. We have a singer who can absolutely do it, so it's all on him(IMO)to make the song work. I'm not real hopeful we can hit those weird-timed punches, but that's another hurdle- we'll see tonight...

Hey, Jimmy- how come no flanger?
***HAPPY ENDING***
Gitard tried out my FX75B tonight & loved it, as did everyone else concerned. What a pleasant surprise. Made a HUUUGE diff.
