105Q internal trim pots

Sign in to disble this ad
I posted this in another thread but, not much traffic on it(it is kinda old)...anyway,my ? is..on the 105Q,which of the internal pots(the white ones at the top of circut board) controls the "off delay"? (mine has two) and what does the other one do??..Also,mine have a gob of glue on them, like they were not intended to be moved.I posted a pic below,it's not the best but, hopefully it's good enough.I bought this brand new(a long time ago) and this is the first time I ever opened it up. the delay is kinda annoying me now and I'd like to adjust it. thank you all in advance for your info..

Those white dials are not intended to be moved. They are factory preset to regulate internal voltage. Below those you should see a larger brown dial...that controls your "off delay".

note that older 105qs will not have a trimpot for the off delay...not sure exactly when the change took place, but, seeing as you bought it new "a while ago" - it MIGHT not be there...should be right above the battery area

Thanks for the replies guy's..Good thing I did'nt try to scrape the glue off the voltage pots and start twistin. Mine does not have the trim pot inside..I guess I'll just have to deal with it. I found my recipt, a "while ago" turns out to be '01(wow,does time fly!)..Hmmmm ..Maybe someday it'll be considered collectable because it has the"original circut design" and it'll fetch bass whammy money ..
yeah right

those 2 white trim pots adjust frequencies for highs and lows...

20K adjust the lows and 5k adjust the highs...

What I did was put a slight bump on highs and cut the lows way back ( full clockwise )...
I like it better and the mega annoying bass thump right before the delay is now gone... also sounds better for my style...

Just mark the original location and start having fun...

Mine has a red board with a white trimpot under where the battery would sit to control the off delay?

Which way do you turn the brown dial to make the delay go away? Clockwise or counter? And why did they even have the delay there in the first place if you can remove it?
