18-volt DC Power Supply?
 

Hi all, I'm on my mobile and didn't find any results in the search feature but this might be redundant - recently purchased a Pigtronix EP-2 which didn't come with a power supply. Need to run to a Radioshack or Walmart to pick one up but I wanted to post here and ask if anyone has recommendations on the best route to go in terms of product, bargain, etc.

If you're looking for something that can go 9v and 19v, the DC Brick comes to mind. TBers are not unanimous over it (not being shielded would be its main fault), but I've used it for years without any hitch.

The manual specifies 18-volt DC with 300 mA, not sure that would be useable... or is it?

Yeah, I do need one today... funny, that didn't come up when I searched their site earlier. Doesn't say anything about the mA though... guess I'll just have to run over to the store.

it says it's a 1A (1000ma) supply so it'll run a bunch of 18V pedals.

Radioshack didn't have one in stock... got a snowstorm heading in, hopefully I can make it to Walmart before it gets nasty out!

Man, this is like the most elusive thing I've ever tried to find in real life. No luck at any store, musical or otherwise, in my area.

The adapter linked from Radioshack's site is AC, and they don't seem to carry a DC one.

Not sure that will work here. There is not battery slot on Pigtronix pedals, I would have to wire them and then wire them into the power jack.

i'd try a guitar shop that sells pedals. i bought an 18 volt for my fulltone bass driver for like $15, American. i'm afraid of universal adapters especially at 18 v.

No, you need a plug that matches whatever power adapter you're looking for but can't find. Wire your batteries to that, as if it's the adapter...

You can probably find that plug - or some 'universal adapter' set - at Radio Snack. Or buy some cheap adapter that has the right plug and the wrong voltage/amp rating - then throw away the part you don't need (in an environmentally conscious manner, of course...).

Already gotten in touch with the guitar shops in my area. The only one with an appropriate power supply is a Pigtronix dealer but they couldn't find any information on selling just a power supply and wanted at least a few days to find out more from the company.

Yeah, that was my next discovery - seems like my best option for now.

It gives 320 A at 18 V, I assume when run off of a OneSpot or similiar high-current power supply.
