im looking to buy some effects for my metal band & for recording purposes but im not sure if i should go for a multi-fx or single fx pedals, it seems like the single will be more costly but alil better depending on the sound i want, but the multi-fx is so light & cheaper than all the pedals. any input on this?? |

Give us more specifics of what you want to achieve, and then we can help you.

EDIT: Looking at what you want,...
Muff $70
Distortion $70
Wah ~$120
Compression $80 - $150
OD ~$70
Figuring compression @ $80 your looking at $410 give or take. If you go used on some things definitely cheaper.
Boss GT-10B = $500 Of course you could probably find a used GT-6B for way cheaper.

Sansamp Programmable Bass Driver + Bass Big Muff might be a good combo for you.
There is so much choice in distortion, overdrive and fuzz pedals.
Best is to get whatever you can get locally and cheap, then after experience with those effects you can search for units that might suit you better.
Check TalkBass Wiki for soundsamples. |

Plus there is every crazy effect you could ever need too.
The GT-6B is OK, but the 10B is twice the 6B.

Get the effect ordered, try it out at home, make sure you keep it in pristine condition, return within the 30-day mark if you don't like it. I've done that a few times before. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
