2 Basses into 1 Rig?

Sign in to disble this ad
I am getting a second bass that I intedn to use with my band, aswell as my current bass, and I was wondering if there is a unit I can use to swap between the two? I have seen A/B boxes, but I've only found them with 1 input and 2 outputs; I want 2 inputs and 1 output. Is there anything available that does this, or would I have to make one?

Mainly becasue it would be easier to just be able to step on a switch and grab the other bass than unplug it. Also, this means that there is no chance of the really annoying scrathy or boomy input sounds

I considered the Boss LS-2 but thought that it would be wasted for this, and it seems alot of money for something that I feel would be wasted.

I was thinking that the EHX Switchblade would do the job if the inputs and output can be reversed

Unless you've settled on the switchblade, how about one of these?

You can order it passive.

My Walter Woods M-100-8 has a 2 channel preamp and a mono amp. I wish more amp makers would do this!

The bass bone allows you to blend and match output levels from each bass so you won't have one louder than the other. TOP shelf stuff and worth the bread. No ground loops, no pops or lag in switching. This IS the way to go.

This is exactly what you need:

http://www.tonebone.com/re-bigshot-io.htm

Only drawback is that it doesn't have LED's.

The Radial Tonebone Bassbone can do this as well. For the larger price tag you get a preamp section for one bass, a DI and a host of other features as well.

More than anything, the Switchblade is the most sensible becasue of the price and availability here in the UK. The This1sMyne pedal does look better as it has the LEDs to show which channel is active, but the Radial is just too much for me atm, in the respects of both money and I don't need a DI
