2 compressors,..crazy?

Been using my Trex Squeezer for over 2 yrs, no problem. Then, got an EBS MultiComp for a smaller, 2nd board. Then, decided I didn't want a 2nd board, (again), and put 1 all purpose board together, with BOTH comps. Trex at the front, and the EBS at the end. Sounds great, the Trex stays on all the time, very light compression, and I kick in the EBS for a more compressed tone, or if I'm doing the octave/fuzz/filter thing. Question is, among the true fx junkies, is having both a little nuts?

If it sounds good... it is good!

True, just second guessing my logic. Thanks.

Second thoughts and even third thoughts are OK! The question I'd ask (always) is, is it redundant and could the board space be better used with something completely different.

I use an always on alesus micro limiter and an Aphex stomp (that compresses the low end as well as adding the exciter) in the effect loop of my amp, hard-severe with a high threashold-- protects the power amp and adds a little sustain. On my board the VT is always on now at the end. There's a point where compression takes away your articulation, but the way it can move your sound along is great, you can play it. Compresions exist all over the place too.. the limits of your cabs, your amp, room size and temp, and every effect adds a kind of compession. Preserve your attack.
