1.

Mojo Hand Colossus

The Colossus is a Civil War / Russian Muff hybrid with Mid control and 3 way toggle for different voicings.

Comes in 4 colours - Silver, Copper, Gold, & White.

Thinking I might try the white one

2.

Catalinbread Manx Loaghtan

I assume it's another Muff clone

oooOOOooo I do love that tone stack, damn. Will have to mess with the Green Muff Clone I have at home see if it's something I want.

$149

The Mojo was the most tempting (would sit nicely next to the Huck) but Baxandall for the win.

Baxandall tone stacks are bass and treble boost/cut, which also controls mids, yes? This being different from the standard muff stacked cut-only hph lpf which looses mids in almost every setting...?

At the least I've missed some subtleties of the designs, but am I at least in the right ballpark here?

Bax's cut mids as one rolls up the bass and treble, but up mids as one rolls back. Not my cup of tea.
Muffs won't lose mids if one adds a mids knob.

I guess they sacrificed controls on extra switches like we do to get the small enclosure. Honestly, the price should be a little lower to account for that IMHO. Looks cool though! Needs more X-Men Colossus though haha!

The standard muff tonestack is designed with a mid scoop but one capacitor value change to it and you can have less scooped/flat/boosted as much as you want mids.

It would be interesting to see how the colossus weighs up against the grey stache, I saw it on whatsthatdudeplay a little while ago, and it did pique my curiosity a bit...

Yep. I'm glad we have more options and have more gain on tap.

After an awesome weekend in the studio layering fuzz bass tracks under heavy break downs and actually using different fuzz's in different parts I'm pulling the trigger on the Colossus today so that I've got a few more options next time I'm in the studio (yeah because I needed more fuzz options )

Can't decide on the colour though, thinking silver maybe copper though
