2 questions about the 105Q

Sign in to disble this ad
does anyone who uses it find the auto switch a bit annoying?

also how goods the physical sweep range on it? I use a killer wail and because of the footswitch on it being under the treadle it feels really restrained and doesn't quite do a very a good sweep before turning off.

ive also had my eye on the WD7, would anyone reccomend it? it looks like it has an awesome sweep but has that annoying looking pole underneath its treadle....

The physical throw on the treadle is quite wide for the 105Q--I doubt you'll find more room to maneuver in a wah, honestly. Whether you'll find the auto-switch annoying or not is hard to say--since you can adjust the shutoff time through a trimmer (down to no pause at all) and adjust the output volume, it can be made to be a very quick and clean transition, but there will be no stuck-wah without modding away the spring return. If all you are going to do is rock it back and forth, though, I don't think it'll be much, if any, issue.

me too...

I just got my new 105Q from MF Friday, trying to get used to it. I was first looking for a auto Q or envelope filter but felt a wah would give me more control over the effect. But now I still want to buy a couple of envelopes I see in classifieds for a more auto effect. I think I might now prefer less (physical) control over a pedal where I can just click it off and on as needed. I know, fickle.

Now I always use a EBS Multicomp btw bass to amp, where should the effects go inline, before or after the compressor? Do I need to start using the effects send/return on my amps?
