Question 3-in-1 FX Unit, custom

Sign in to disble this ad
if you had a chance to build a Custom 3-in-1 FX Unit,

which 3 fx would you choose (brand and model please) considering the following:

1 - the unit will be true-bypass, have a master volume and a wet/dry blend.

2 - choice of fx wont include: compressor, eq, or distortion. I already have those.

Fire away!

A phaser, chorus, tremolo. Like a Small Stone circuit (for the Deep swtich), A Boss CEB-3 chorus, and a stripped down EHX Pulsar circuit with Stereo Output.

Audiomonk Fuzzpotion
Creation Audio Holy Fire
Analogman Clone Chorus (deep)

That would be a box to die for.

Here is what I would want:

Fuzz (either a B:assmaster or a SuperFuzz), envelope filter (either a Mutron or a Meatball), and phaser. I would want the envelope follower circuit before the fuzz, but the filter after. Because I love the sound of an env. filter with a fuzz in the loop, but I also want to be able to do the Jet Phaser sound.

I would never do a three-in-one pedal. You're stuck with all three.

Resonant filter, delay, and ring modulator. Each would have its own expression pedal too.

You need fuzz, you just haven't realised it yet! It warrants inclusion, because like bigchiefbc said, with everything in one pedal you could take the filter envelope from the clean sound, while it processes the fuzzed sound. I would go for octave -> brassmaster clone -> Korg MS-20 or DOD440 filter. Then you could sell it to all the synth nuts on TB!

I'm a bit of a fiend for tweakable pedals.

-octave down/octave up ring mod circuits
-built around gritty multiple resonant filters
-With a multi-mod that can be controlled by the input or follow the envelope...

If we're going with an EHX theme it's be...

So it's like the Multiplexer meets frequency analyzer built in front of a polyphase with bassballs, worm, and pulsar circuitry.
