Can anyone tell me the difference between the Proton and Groove Regulator? Does anyone have samples?

Yeah, I read that on their website but didn't help me much. Any samples comparing the two?

YouTube - ‪3Leaf Audio Proton Envelope Filter on bass‬‏
YouTube - ‪3 Leaf Groove Regulator and Proton Envelope Filters‬‏
YouTube - ‪3Leaf Audio GR2 Groove Regulator Pedal Demo (On Bass)‬‏

I forgot how good the playing in that Proton sample video is.

I just left it on, listening to it like it was some funk track, and forgot it was a demo video.
Love this guy.

A MuTron III sounds like Jerry Garcia or Bootsy. The Meatball is Mike Gordon's sound. Just listen to the videos and decide which tone you prefer. If I was a guitarist I'd choose the Proton, because the MuTron has fantastic sounds for that higher timbre, the Meatball I think works better for bass. But then, I haven't played a MuTron, but the EHX QTron is supposed to be a MuTron clone, but I hated playing with a QTron. Was too limiting in its tone selection. The Proton sounds like there is a lot more tonal range than the QTron. Sounds like you can't go wrong with either one. I love my GR-2, and the tease of the 3Leaf Synth at the end of that video has me salivating for another effect I shouldn't want!

The Proton has an external switch for bandpass or lowpass. The GR2 has an internal switch, the GR does not have the option. I wanted to be able to easily switch from bp to lp, so the Proton was an easy call for me. I just got it recently and have only played around with it for a couple hours, man does it sound great! So far just using the lp.

By looking at the videos, the Groove Regulator gives you the 'chicken peck' neck vibe, where the Proton gives you the ultimate in Bass Faceitude.
