Settings
Proton: Gain @ 8:30, Peak @ 7:00, Decay @ 12:00, Range = down, Sweep = up
MXR BOD: Mid switch on, Dry @ 12:30, Growl @ 12:00, Girth @ 1:30
Sounds great! I'll have to stick this up on my site when I get around to doing a redesign.
Thanks and absolutely! I wish I had a way to do a video, instead of just audio clips. Maybe tomorrow I can find some time to do a clip of the Proton with the B7K.
Edit: If it matters, the MXR is before the Proton in the chain (main board is the PT Mini).

Same Jazz Bass as above...

I have some that I recorded for a friend's record - I'll see if I can release them. FWIW I've been using it more than my REDDI for recording lately.
Basically I'm looking to downsize my pedalboard to Nano size. I'm at a Jr now and I use very few of the effects. Ever. So I'm going to go with turbo tuner, OC-2 or OC-3, compressor, DI. Currently I'm using a Paradriver or a BDDI but I'd like something a little more versatile. The Enabler looks perfect and I can use it for headphone amp practice. Initially I wrote off the Enabler since the XLR was on the right side, but on the Nano I'm going to rotate it 90 degree which puts the XLR on top. Perfect.

Yeah, I wanted to put the XLR on the left but space inside was so tight that there was literally no room for the XLR and the ground switch over there.
I've had the PWNZOR on my board for a while now, and really dig it. It's less invasive and doesn't get as "effected" as other compressors I've tried (it doesn't get as "squished" a sound as other comps at high settings), but that's exactly what I like about it. This is the first compressor that I don't feel like I'm fighting with to get my playing dynamics through. While remaining subtle in that regard, the PWNZOR still adds a certain fatness to your sound that I've really come to consider essential. I've never messed with the internal controls at all, and it's been perfect for my needs/wants and working with my playing style.
Talkbass resident compressor expert Bongomania also has a good write-up about the PWNZOR here.
Not sure why I didn't think of this earlier, but Vintage Microtubes into The Enabler would be a combo that should cover any sonic territory you would ever need. Hmmmmm....
Hi, I don't qualify for membership, but I'm thinking about getting the Enabler. I have little doubt that the headphone amp and EQ will be great, but how about the DI? Has anyone here used it for live and/or recording and did it sound just good or REALLY good? And in case someone has both, shall I expect a significant improvement compared to the DI on my Markbass LMKIII?
And another question: Does the Enabler like to be daisychained?
I'm sorry if these questions have already been covered here, but couldn't really find anything when I googled for it. I think the Enabler beats the hell out of it's competitors design-wise, but it's a lot more costly than a used EBS Micro (which is pretty easy to find here in Scandinavia), so I need to make sure it's worth it.
I sold my EBS Micro after purchasing The Enabler...the sound quality is MUCH better IMO...haven't used the DI but I'm confident that its as good or better than what you're equipped with in your amp
I've used the Enabler DI. I have the pedal and use it every day as a preamp to add some extra shaping to my tone. Back in october I played a gig where another bassist was supposed to bring a cab that I could plug my amp (Mesa Walkabout) into. Of course, he brought a combo instead for whatever reason and since that sounded so bad I decided to go straight into the board with my Enabler. It sounded REALLY good. I was in a pinch and so I wasn't expecting much, but it sounded pretty downright incredible. My amp has a great DI, but this one might actually be better.

I know this is really biased coming from me, but I don't use my REDDI nearly as much these days. The Enabler's balanced line driver circuitry was borrowed from the designs of high end studio gear, and it's as good as you're going find without resorting to transformers.
