Thank you! I definitely think the headphone amp is the best part. It was certainly the most challenging part of the design!

Could not have said it better. It's that good.

Spencer-

Can you elaborate on what exactly is going on in the aux in/headphone amp circuit? It's bringing way more life to anything coming directly off an Ipod or my Mac - the best comparison I can give is when you hear a familiar song played through one of those super high-end stereo rigs at Bang & Olefson. I'm curious as to how it works.

...and Spencer, any new developments with, er.... new developments (other than Darkglass)?

It's really simple actually. Just an audiophile-grade headphone amplifier. The tricky part is that the headphone amp draws a ton of current and will only operate on a true plus/minus supply - it won't work with a charge pump or a pair of biasing resistors like most pedals use. I had to use a special power supply to generate a true negative voltage. To my knowledge, no other stompbox uses a supply like this. It's the secret sauce of the pedal.

The Darkglass stuff has been taking up most of my time lately (we've got a lot of cool stuff on the horizon!), but I'm working on a few of my own things too. I'll have details once they're closer to completion.

Well done my friend. It really brings new life to iTunes. Makes my desktop computer speakers and the RCA headphone jack on the iPod sound kind of flat and lifeless in comparison. Totally worth the time you put into this.

And the fact that I can get THAT degree of audiophile quality on both the bass AND an auxiliary backing track - without disturbing my wife in the next room, with the door wide open...damn. (smacking head, asking myself why I waited to get one)

Does my Microtubes B7K made by 3LA count? After reading the reviews, I ponied up for the Enabler. Should be here early next week. Can't wait to connect it up with my Bee Bass.

Between the Premier Guitar review and Lonnybass's reports, I got off the fence, sold a piece of gear, and moved on the Enabler. I spend good money on my basses, and this seems to be a good way to provide them with a low-footprint front end that enhances their inherent voices. And the headphone amp sounds like just the ticket for not waking up my newborn son who now sleeps in the front room.

New member here! I just got Enabled and it sounds insanely good! I've always thought my SWR California Blonde had a pretty good headphone out, and maybe it does, but this is just way, way beyond. Thanks for a great piece of gear - I'm looking very much forward to try out the DI!

Got a chance to play with the Wonderlove last night. It's a bit different than the GR2, but it sounds so good. Can't wait to start messing with the effects loop. It really plays nicely with my B7K.

I'm digging how my Wonderlove is playing with my dirt pedals. Very nice filter.

Pretty tasty board. I use a small mint tin like your Altoids can for picks, or do you have some other secret in there? lol

I seem to remember you saying you don't need a number, is that correct? I can sure add you to the list if you want.

I guess I'll take a number as I am now committed 3Leaf user with both a Proton and a Wonderlove on my board. I've owned several filters over the years and find that 3Leaf just trips my trigger.

Re: mint tin... yup for picks. I play about 75% finger style, but some songs just sound better with a pick.

Got you in at #73.

73. Matt Dean (Proton prototype, Wonderlove)

I play finger style 99% of the time, but it's always good to have the pick sound in the sonic toolbox.

+1 about 3Leaf filters. I've owned or played 24 now, 3Leaf has been at the top since the GR1. The only other one I like as much is the EP2.

I have my Proton set for a really dark gurgley sound (Sensitivity and Gain both at about 8:30, Decay around 1:00, range down, sweep up). It's subtle, you have to be paying attention to hear it in the mix. But the same settings with a pick sound killer... brighter and more outspoken, with more attack (like a pick would have ).
