I've still got my GR1 around, just looking for an application for it. ;)

5string, if you could update #28 to Proton V2, it would be much appreciated.

3 leaf 4 life!

In response to Lonnybass at the end of the last thread - the conventional way to do the gain staging on the Enabler would be to turn the gain knob up as much as you can without the signal clipping, and then set the master volume knob to the volume you need. In practice, since the Enabler has such a scary amount of gain, I usually set the gain a bit lower and the master a bit higher. This gives me a bit more headroom for when I really dig in or when I'm using effects. With my basses I've never taken the gain past 12 o'clock.

BassManPatsFan 02-12-2013 11:13 AM

Now that the list had been re-posted, I realize I'm not on it. I have an Enabler and love it.

Spencer, if you make an Octaver sometime, I would be all over that.

Edited!

BassManPatsFan, I searched back through the first thread and didn't see a pic. Post one up and I'll get you on the list! I'll hold #75 for you. :bassist:

No worries Brent. :)

The list is cool but I am getting more credit than I deserve, I only own a Proton, one of the new ones. Still loving it!

This is super helpful Spencer. In order to drive my power amp, my old Eden WTDI required the master to be set at max because I could only get the gain up to about 9'oclock without clipping. So I had to add a booster pedal after it to get more signal out of it. But it seems like the Enabler's gain is so much more powerful, so it can be set differently. Your point about deriving your volume from a high master setting in order to provide for reserve headroom is an especially good one.

I'll join with a Wonderlove #132 here :)

Ask and you shall receive. Behold a blurry iPhone photo of my board in its current state:

I have an Analogman Mini Chorus coming on Thursday. Once I'll get that, I'll take better pics of the whole board.

I may be a pretty new filter fan but I'm thinking that some shared "recipes" of Wonderlove settings might be a good idea to help out all that are interested :-)

I initially had similar thoughts about my Wonderlove when I compared it to my GR2. I tried to use the same settings from the GR2 on the WL stupidly expecting it to sound exactly the same but found it didn't respond the same at all! It's quite different from the GR2 and needs a bit more attention but they're both fantastic filters and there are a wealth of usable sounds hidden in there.
Stick with it and experiment with the settings. You wont regret it. :)

Beholded! Lol got you in at #75.

How do you like that Source Audio EQ? I've been GASing after a Whirlwind Bass 10 for a while, but the SA has a nicer pedalboard size.

Is "PatsFan" in reference to the football team? Man, I thought bass players had better sense than that. ;)

My phone doesn't like the quote function very well, it seems.
