3M Command Strips

I've seen a lot of threads discussing alternatives to using Velcro on the bottom of pedals. I saw these hooks and picture hangers on TV that 3M claim will hold a fair amount of weight on a wall and when you're done with them they leave no residue. I read some reviews online and they seem to be pretty well liked. It got me thinking that this would be a cool way to mount pedals without worrying about damaging the bottoms or dealing with annoying residue clean up at re-sale time. They sell packs of refill strips for the various hooks and other items that they have.

Does anyone think this could be a viable solution? Has anyone tried it?

It might work. I have used those to hang pictures but i don't know if they would work for pedals, maybe.

As an alternative here is what i do.

Take back off pedal
Take good quality 3M clear strapping tape and make one wrap around back of pedal, sticky side out.
Do same again but sticky side in so that you end up with a tight clear plastic "wrap" around the back cover and no sticky side either side since sticky sides stuck together
Reattach pedal back to pedal
Attach velcro to tape covering back of pedal

Cut the tape to de-velcro the pedal, easy
Pedal never has any sticky gunk on it ever, it stays in same condition as you started
Quick, easy no fuss no muss

Just my 2cents

Eh, I wouldn't do it.
If they get wet - and they will - all bets are off.
I'm also not so sure anyone really cares a whole lot about Velcro on the bottom of an effect pedal. At least I can't recall anyone complaining and demanding a squeaky clean metal bit to stomp on anyhow.
Just stick with Velco, pun intended.
