4ms Nocto Loco. Whoa.

I just built this. I was planning to use it in a feedback loop, not on bass, but I tested it out with my bass and I was like, "whoa."

It's like 5 minutes of noodling and changing settings. Yum.

This thing is what I wanted the Atoner to be.

I also used to have one, but had to sell.
It worked perfekt with the MF Freqbox.

Works ok for me?

The Mondo just lets you blend every octave (-1, -2, -3, -4, -5, and -6) instead of choosing two. I think that might get to be overkill. I might decide to add a dedicated Pot for the -1 octave, and then have a switch to choose between -2 and -3, but I certainly wouldn't want to blend -4, -5, and -6 with bass. For whacked out noise stuff, that could be cool.

The -4, -5, and -6 down settings are useful in Loco mode, not just for wacky noise. The -6 down in Loco mode is possibly the most screeching, nasty, and downright evil drive sound I have yet come across.

Doesn't seem too much...$235 for a new Nocto, which offers two distinct settings for use at once. It's an extreme pedal for sure, but a versatile unit...I can think of plenty of pedals costing the same or more that ultimately offer less than this.

Oh, yeah, I just mean that using -4, -5, OR, -6 is enough, I don't need all of them at once.

And I think it's quite reasonably priced. The Nocto would probably be most comparable to a Robot Factory Quad Octave Synth Box or (sort of) an MI Audio Polyanna. It's in between those two in price.

I've never been able to get that link to play... no play button or anything ever pops up.. It works for some of you guys?

After hearing speak_onions clip of the nocto+mam filter I've been gassing for one. I really like the pollyanna and oc2, but the Nocto and the Quad Octave synth are very appealing and seem very versatile. I'm using octaves enough as my base tone that I'd like to expand my pallet.

Nope... I listened to the mam+nocto, but I thought this thread was a better one to bump. Pure nocto here.

heres the thing i've failed at cliphosting. Putfile is a nightmare. Lately, I've just been doing the medaifire thing, which kinda sucks too because you have to download it, but at least it works. I'll try to re-upload this to medaifire when I get a chance. Or maybe we'll record a bunch of new noise with the Nocto tomorrow at John's studio during the pedal hangout.
