I just built this. I was planning to use it in a feedback loop, not on bass, but I tested it out with my bass and I was like, "whoa." http://media.putfile.com/Nocto-Loco-Bass-Test
It's like 5 minutes of noodling and changing settings. Yum.
This thing is what I wanted the Atoner to be. |

The Mondo just lets you blend every octave (-1, -2, -3, -4, -5, and -6) instead of choosing two. I think that might get to be overkill. I might decide to add a dedicated Pot for the -1 octave, and then have a switch to choose between -2 and -3, but I certainly wouldn't want to blend -4, -5, and -6 with bass. For whacked out noise stuff, that could be cool. |

It's an extreme pedal for sure, but a versatile unit...I can think of plenty of pedals costing the same or more that ultimately offer less than this. |

And I think it's quite reasonably priced. The Nocto would probably be most comparable to a Robot Factory Quad Octave Synth Box or (sort of) an MI Audio Polyanna. It's in between those two in price. |

After hearing speak_onions clip of the nocto+mam filter I've been gassing for one. I really like the pollyanna and oc2, but the Nocto and the Quad Octave synth are very appealing and seem very versatile. I'm using octaves enough as my base tone that I'd like to expand my pallet. |

Lately, I've just been doing the medaifire thing, which kinda sucks too because you have to download it, but at least it works. I'll try to re-upload this to medaifire when I get a chance. Or maybe we'll record a bunch of new noise with the Nocto tomorrow at John's studio during the pedal hangout. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
