yeesh, $400 for a LPF is a but much, especially for live use.

True, and $750 is a lot for a DI but that's what a REDDI costs (the one Jimmy is using quite happily) so value is certainly subjective.

Look on the bright side, it's also a HPF so it could also take the place of an F-Deck or SPX Thumpinator if the frequency range goes low enough.

This pedal might be a bit overkill for just doing a LPF, but if you happen to have one sitting around, it'll work nicely.
The speaker sim is off when the blend is turned counterclockwise. There is a slight roll off around 7kHz which is there by design to make the EQ more musical (with the SansAmp circuitry off) when boosting and cutting. That roll of is pretty transparent with the controls set to their null point and it won't suffice as a speaker sim if that is what is trying to be accomplished.
