I have a Big Muff that I would like to plug into the wall.
(It's an older, green, "pi" muff).
I have searched the net, called several Radio Shack stores, guitar stores, etc. in the Minneapolis area and no one carries this.
Any ideas where to purchase this item?
How hard is it to build one from Radio Shack parts.....I can solder wires together.

If you can solder you could probably go that route with ease. Check your friendly (or unfriendly as the case may be) local music shop for either Godlyke Power-All or 1-Spot adapter parts. They should sell battery snap -> standard 9vdc adapters. If not, you can order em from a million places online: EBay, GC, SamAsh, direct from Godlyke, or direct from Visual Sound, etc.

I bought a Godlyke power supply off of music123.com that came with a 9v battery clip adapter and it was only $20. You can buy it separately, I think its somewhere around $3-ish.

Thanks Mutt...
Radio Shack talked about selling power supply for 9-volt power, but said some things that were over my head about numbers.
He thought between 300 and 800 would work best. Does that make ANY sense to anyone here? Can you enlighten me as to what these refer to, and where most pedal supplies fall?

I have one somewhere in my basement. I'll look around for it tomorrow and, if I find it, you can have it.

(re 300 - 800 etc, he is likely talking about the current, in milliamps. )

For a Sovtek Big Muff (the old green "tank" ones), all you need is a 9V battery clip adapter. Use that with a Boss-style regulated 9VDC adapter, and you're set.

Any guitar shop will have what you're looking for. Don't bother with Radio Shack for anything music-related.

As far as current goes... Big Muffs use very little current. 25mA is more than enough for that one pedal, but there is no harm at all in using a 1700mA+ power source. Pedals will only take what they need. The risk lies in not having enough current. 300mA is a recommended minimum, but the more pedals you get (especially power-hungry digital ones), the more current you'll need to have available.

If you plan on powering multiple pedals, consider getting a Visual Sound 1 Spot with a daisy chain, and buy the 9V battery clip adapter so you can power the Big Muff off of the daisy chain.

The One Spot combo pack has a power supply and a cable that powers 8 effects. Also has several adapters including a couple nine volt battery clip adapter too.
