i'm having trouble tap dancing on some parts of the songs, especially when i need something like a fuzzed out wah, while coming out of an overdriven sound - i can't step on the fuzz and wah as fast as i should.

not to mention, i need some synthy sound some songs that i would need to have an octaver-envelope filter-fuzz on all at once before switching out to a normal bass sound.

i figure i would need one of those A-B loopers.

is there anything specific i have to check? or are they all the same?

i've seen "Loop Master" pedals online... and they seem more expensive. i was thinking maybe i could just buy parts and let someone make me a looper with the same functionality and less cost - or do guys like Loop Master have something unique that you just can't make at home?

It's very easy to build one. It doesn't even need a battery (unless you want an indicator LED).

You just need a box, 4 jack sockets, and a DPDT switch. Add a 3PDT, LED, battery clip if you want an LED).

It's just a true bypass circuit.

Actually here's the circuit, explains it better than I could: Beavis Audio Research

As far as I can tell none of those drawings on the Beavis audio site will get you A->B and B->A action with just one press, which sounds to me like what you want.

If you just need a few strip loopers, then those drawings will work, but you will still need to step out of your overdrive before stepping into your fuzz/wah.

A Boss LS-2 will do the A->B thing well, or a modified version of that drawing will work also. I am too lazy to work up the modified drawing now, hopefully someone will chime in .
