ac power pedal question

I have a digitech bass synth wah pedal and I just found an AC adapter that has the right output specs. I took out the battery and plugged it in but the pedal doesn't work. Does it still need the battery installed to work with the adapter? Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

The right specs. (?) It's more than just voltage- does it work with anything else? Have you tested it with a multi-meter?

I have not but its labeled dc9v 300mA. I was just wondering if the pedal would work with the battery out and the adapter plugged in

Might be a polarity issue...

If a) it is the correct power/polarity and b)working properly, then yes, the pedal should work without a battery.

Gotta check if the adapter is center negative or center positive. Most new pedals are center negative while older ones like the original muffs and dods were center positive
