Acoustic Vs. Bass Exciter?

I have been really interested in the aphex bass exciter... I want to get something exactly like it, I loved the demos... I did plenty of searches on this pedal here and I was wondering if anybody uses the acoustic exciter. Someone commented on the difference in frequency range on the bass exciter has a gap in the low mids somewhere. If I got the acoustic instead of the bass exciter, what differences would there be. If anybody has any experience, please post...

From what I remember the Acoustic one sounds a bit smoother and more natural while the bass one adds a nice aggressive factor to your tone.

But in saying that I only owned the Bass one and found it was good for getting an expensive sound out of cheap gear but wasted on good gear.

Im lookin at getting a good fat blues groovin sound. It looks like from the specs that the acoustic version offers a wider range of mid frequencies. I do like a nice full range sound. I dont really want to make my amp sound better as much as I want to have a good sound to go DI into the PA. Who's got experience with the acoustic??

Well I managed to try it out at guitar center today. The acoustic has a nice fat sound to it, but the bass exciter might have a greater effect since it is voiced particularly for bass. I wish I knew which sounded better...
