Does anyone have any experience with this? are there any problems i should be aware of before buying? do any of the effects react in a bad way to an active bass?

The active or passive nature of the bass don't make a signal "different". Strong preamps will output a hotter signal, but personally, the highest output I have is from a passive Fender P knockoff.

I have a B2.1u and I copy whatever preset I want to use for a new bass, then adjust its input/output levels accordingly. (my A bank is for a bass, the B bank for another, etc.)

Nothing comes out of your bass that can't be managed by the settings. The Zoom B2 is a very cool unit. I have a Boss GT-6B and a Zoom B2. The B2 gets more use.

Zooms and active basses have allways been friendly with each other. Anyway, I do find I like the sound of my active basses better thru the B9.1ut with it set for passive pups rather then active. I did try one of the B2 units and was rather underwhelmed. It gives nowhere near the functionality of my old zoom player 3000, and its no where as good sounding as the B9.1ut. Its rather lacking in difinition to the sound by comparrision. You can get some good typically used bass voices out of i. But dont expect anything thrilling for modern sounds. Its a bit strangled sounding to me. If you can save up some and get the B9.1ut or one of the older previous upper end Zooms on used market. Unfortunately the lower end zooms like most mfg are bassicaly bleh sounding to me. But the upper end ones are quite nice imo.
