active/ passive input question

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello, I am sure this questions has been asked countless times, but I did search and maybe I am not terming the question right.

I have an MB212 GK combo amp, which has an active and passive input. Is it possible to use both. the active for effects, while going straight into the passive at the same time? I have a P bass. I would like to buy an a/b/y and switch between the two channels at will during shows.

Thanks in advance!

What exactly are you hoping to achieve?

You'll find the the "Active" input is going to have around a -15db volume drop. The active inputs are put there so you have the option of plugging in a hotter output instrument without clipping the preamp, and while I don't know enough about how these "dual inputs" are wired,....I think you'll find that they aren't intended to serve as separate channels.

You'd want a bypass pedal. I'm having that discussion at the moment.
