I've just gotten back into the wild world of fuzz (for guitar) and can't find any info on which AC adapter to use.
The pedals are:
Ibanez STL - that's a Maxon-made L-Series super tube screamer
Maxon ST-01 - the Maxon version of the STL
They look like these:

Then they switched the boss barrel style with the 9 series.

Are there any SNAFU's as far as different types and voltage ratings on the Boss barrel style, or is it one size fits all? |

The notable exception being Boss itself, where some of their older pedals take 12V. |

I think something sxaid the PSA could work in some ACA applications with an adapter (an adapter for the adapter?). That gave me the impression that the ACA is older and probably what I should try. Does that make sense?
Found this: http://www.stinkfoot.se/andreas/diy/.../bossadapt.htm
Seems like PSA = regulated (for stuff after Aug, 1997), and ACA = unregulated.

So a PSA will work for the 9 VDC (later) ones. Neither has any specific correlation to Ibanez/Maxon, except insofar as I'm putting my imaginary money on 9 VDC. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
