Adaptor Current ratings

Sign in to disble this ad
Will plugging an adaptor with a higher current rating into a pedal harm the effect?

eg. say an EHX pedal that requires 24VDC ,the old one was 24VDC 100mA. I can only find one rated at 1A.

Would this harm the circuitry? Or does the circuit only draw what it requires.

thanks

It will be fine. The unit will only draw what it needs.

+1. Its just a step down transformer/diode rectifier circut. DAMN I LOVE THAT I KNOW THAT

The current rating is how much the wires in the transformer can handle load side before they start to fry. Its not what it delivers. THAT is based on what amount of load is on it.

Digital swithmode are diff, but the rating still means the same thing.
