Adding Phase Switch to Barge VB-jr

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Barge Concepts VB-jr that I would love to use with my Keeley compressor (4 knob). The problem is that the Keeley is out of phase with the the Barge and the VB-jr does not have the phase switch option. I tried contacting Barge Concepts 3 or 4 times with no response. Is this a mod I could do myself? Any suggestions?

Thanks

I'm not sure trying to mod it yourself is a great idea, unless you know that stuff backwards.

my (former) VB-Jr had the inversion switch, and internally there was a fair bit to it.

Yeah I hear ya. I might have to track down a tech for this one.

Can anyone post gut shots of one with the phase switch? Could it be as simple as switching the fx signal to go to a different pin on the op-amp - don't op-amps generally have inverting and non-inverting input pins?

yeah but an op amp uses the inverting input also in the non inverting amplifier in order to stabilize the gain. basically you'd have to change the whole architecture of the components around the amp to make it inverting! What I'd advice is to build a small inverting amplifier (it needs about 6-7 components) that you could put in a box and on the pedalboard (it could serve as a pedal riser for example)

Sorry guys - I sold mine.

But from memory, beside the main pcb;
There was a smaller pcb, around the size of a small postage stamp, with a small number of components on it, wired to the inversion switch.
