Adding a Sonic Maximizer

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey there everyone !

I have a very simple question / request I'm hoping you all out here can help me with. I am going to add a sonic maximizer to my rig and was wondering if there was any difference in either using it straight from my bass to the SM then to my amp, OR should I use it through the effects send/returns?

I'm curious if there's any difference in the sound besides the fact that you can manually control the level of effect going and coming from the unit into the amp....

Thank you all in advance for your input and help !

blessings !!!

FWIW, I put it at the very end of my chain.... right before the power amp. Actually, I use the Aphex Aural Exciter but same idea. I also use it pretty sparingly, just a dab!

You may wish to rethink that. A substantial majority of those here who've used them don't like them (search).

Assuming a rack unit model, it is supposed to be used as the final effect in the chain in the loop. Check the downloadable manual.
