Advice for best EQ & Compression setup?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello, long time lurker, first time poster. My current pedal setup is Bass> Korg Tuner> Morley Wah> Boss ODB-3 OD> Boss CEB-3 Chorus> Amp

I am currently on the market to add an Equalizer and Compression setup, but I don't know very much at all about them. Is there a single pedal that can do the job of both, or should I get one of each? If so, any suggestions?

Thanks!

Ultimately you want a compressor that does not alter the tone or EQ of your bass. There's a guy on here if you search the forums who has put together a fantastic list of reviews for compressors.

EQ I like the Boss GE-7 if I need it, but I try to dial in my amp really well to not need any additional EQing.

Boss GEB-7 is a good choice BillyIVbass made a great point about compression pedals - make sure they don't mess with your tone. Is there a certain sound you are looking for with adding these pedals? Do you understand how those pedals work or are you asking where to find some good ones? If you don't know how the pedal can help you - don't buy it - research!

Bongo's site should answer most of your questions. http://www.ovnilab.com/index.shtml
There's also some good information on eq there.

You'll want to be clear about what sort of tones you're looking to get.
