| What is it that you don't like about the Echobox? Personally I think it's a great delay.
As for tap tempo, with a couple exceptions (the expensive Memory Lane 2, the new EHX Memory, the upcoming EHX Deluxe Memory Boy and the further down the road Malekko 919) you're looking at digital rather than analog delays.
On the expensive side of things I think the Pigtronix Echolution is amazing and the Empress Superdelay is a fantastically engineered pedal whose only issue is that it was TOO feature packed for my needs.
On the cheaper side of things the Line6 Echo Park and the Digitech Hardwire delay both have tap tempo and a bunch of options. Personally I want a tap tempo delay to have a separate footswitch for bypass and TT but that's me.
Which is why the two delays I currently have are the AKAI Headrush E2 and the Vox Time Machine. (I'm also auditioning a Carbon Copy and Malekko 616 for a spot on my fretless board but that's a different story) I like the Vox slightly better as a delay (the "vintage" mode is very cool) but the AKAI is currently on my board for it's looping capabilities. |
