advice needed;looking for a fretless effect pedal that is semi-convincing

im looking for a fretlesss effects pedal that is semi convincing, i have a dod bass30 that i pulled out of the closet from a few years back, like new i thought the fretless sounded good at one point but now that i have hooked it up to my amp im not really digging it too too much, i really wanted to use it on a recording i was doing with the band im in..... im using my real fretless and ran into a little problems "preciseness" also maybe some advice on good effects pedals that enhance that fretless sound to go with my fretless bass with flats and i have another bass with half-wound or point me to an article or other thread ...thanks

yeah that sounds about right bongo...thanks

There is no such thing as a convincing effect for making your fretted bass sound fretless. There are people who can pull that off with super technique alone, but all the effects that claim to do it, suck.

As far as effects to go with your real fretless, any effects that you'd use on fretted can be used on fretless to equal benefit. The classic 80's fretless effects are chorus, maybe a bit of reverb, and if you're Pino, an octaver.

you could TRY by plucking your bass by the bridge and using only the bridge pickup, probably try using flatwounds also, but I donīt think that will really do it, thereīs no good way to make a fretted sound fretless, believe me Iīve tried

Practice makes permanent. Striving for perfection is demoralising.

That's all
