Thinking about getting one. Had a Line 6 POD XT Live once, it was a little complicated for me.

Anyone got some recommendations? I would like some amp models in the unit when I do some gigs ampless.

Especially looking for used.

didn't see alot in the classified section.

How cheap are you looking for? Of the newer stuff out there, I'd go with Zoom over the Boss stuff or *newer* Digitech. Less routing/tweakability than the Boss units, but IMO, the Zoom's effects algorithms sound much, much better. I haven't ever heard a good amp model from either the Boss or the Zoom however.
Maybe try and find a Digitech BP8? They occassionally crop up on Ebay, and though it doesn't have amp modeling per sae, it does have a real high voltage tube pre section that can cop some very amp like tones direct.
Also, if you're mostly looking for amp modeling, have you thought about instead of getting a multi-effects unit, getting something like say the VT Bass instead?

there's often room for improvement with your bass onboard electronics, too.

I vote for a Zoom B2. It took me a little while to really get a handle on how to tweak the models, but now I can make it sound really good, with just about any setup. I regularly use the Ampeg, Sansamp, and Tube Pre models. I occasionally use other models too, depending on the sound that I'm going for.

I play mainly at churches...sometimes direct into the board, but often into a less than desirable combo. The key to getting a good sound for me...the eq module and even more important--the ZNR blend/mix module. I get compliments on my tone quite often by sound engineers (some who are quite good), and occasionally by other bass players(again, some who are quite good). I use passive P or J style basses--Peavey or 1 squire jazz that I have. The sound engineers are usually surprised that my basses don't have active pickups.
