Anyone used one of these yet??? I am running a DB750 head and am wanting more "tube tone/growl". I recently purchased an old Fender Bassman 50 (1971) and love its character and tone, but it lacks sheer volume and headroom like my DB750. If Im going down the wrong path someone steer me straight please.

I have. Great unit IMO. Personally I think it's best at heavier dirt than overdrive but it has a pretty wide range of dirt tones and they all sound good to my ears.

But it has been discontinued. We got confirmation of that in a thread sometime last week.

The actual distortion circuit is being built into pedal form but for the time being I'm guessing you can find one used (or maybe even new from old stock) for a reasonable price.

Yeah, it is a killer unit. Not only does the distortion itself sound great, but since it is set up with all of the dirty channel controls, you can really tweak the sound. I'm not really using mine (due to it not really integrating well with the direction my setup has taken), but I've kept it around due to just liking it so much.

I A/B'ed the Agro and the EBS Valvedrive through a DB751, and the Agro was meh. The Valvedrive was super-hyper-win! It got a killer on-the-verge-of-distortion sound, and it made the whole sound HUGE and very very tubey.

I immediately put that on my to-buy list and removed the Agro.
