aguilar octimizer vs. oc2: round one!

kinda rules.

i used it tonight at nerve rehearsal, and was shocked at how great it worked in a band setting.

my initial thoughts on the pedal were that it lacked some punch somehow.... didn't thump like the oc2.... but in a band context i found it to sound really clear and musical. the downward dynamic range isn't as big as the oc2, meaning that you can't play as quietly without it glitching, but i couldn't get it to clip or fart like the oc2 does with a hot bass (like my series wired jazz)...

anyway... gonna try it on the gig this sunday, i think, and see how it works on a good PA.

I've had an octamizer for a couple of weeks and am LOVIN it. But I haven't played any other octave pedals. I love the filter on the octave signal. I think they did a great job with the controls and the tweakability. I haven't played it in a live setting yet, but I can't wait to. Something I've been thinking about is how to use it. Will I keep it on for a whole song, or use it on just one particular section, etc... (not to hijack your thread or anything)

i saw tim lefebvre recently. if i saw it correctly, the battery on his oc-2 went empty and he continued the set with an octamizer - still sounding great, of course!

How'd it do at the gig compared to the OC-2, John?

BTW, I can't think of you without thinking of Garfield.
