work for guitar? Sure! Will it
work for acoustic? Sure!
Will you like the sound you get out of it? That's something that you will need to find out on your own since good tone is pretty subjective.
However, I will say that more than enough guitarists are using the Tech21 VT Bass on their guitars to great effect (no pun intended). Poke around on Youtube and you should find at least one demo of this.
