I posted this in amps as well, but thought you all might be helpful as well! (obviously effects forum lurkers would never visit the amps forum...)
I'm considering buying a TH & rewiring the 1/4"output to jack to be parallel with the input jack (so there is no tone shaping to the amp). If you've looked inside the unit, are the jacks soldered directly on a pc board or are they connected to leads? |

I want to run an uneffected tone to my amp & run an effected tone to the house mix. So, the XLR would be shaped by the TH circuitry, but the 1/4" back out would just be a dry, unity gain signal straght from the input jack. |

You want the TH to be your preamp, right?, and put it in front of a poweramp? The whole purpose of the pedal is tone shaping. Why would you NOT want that? Can it not be set flat?

I want to use the TH as an active DI w/ tone shaping. I already have a stage rig (amp head/cabinet) that sounds great, I'm trying to find a tone shaping DI with variable output to send to the foh independent of my stage sound.
Basically, think of what I'm trying to do as replacing a SansAmp Bass Driver DI with a Tone Hammer. Uneffected to amp. Effected to FOH. |

What I need to know is how the jacks are connected. Alternatively, if there is room, I could add an additional 1/4" jack & tie it to the input jack. Again, I could really use a peek inside the TH! |

Plug your bass into this external splitter that has 1 input and 2 outputs.
First output goes into your Tone Hammer and to the XLR out.
Second output goes into you other amps. |

Sure, a splitter would work. But I'm going for a more stream-lined setup. Using a splitter would be my last-case solution... |

The jacks are soldered directly to the PCB. There seems to be a fair bit of room in there though.
Hope that helps
