Aguilar Tone Hammer pedal - battery vs. phantom power

Sign in to disble this ad
I got the Tone Hammer pedal recently and am totally diggin' it. I like to use battery power when at home practicing and phantom power on the gig.

What powers the Tone Hammer when a DI line with phantom power is plugged into it and it also has batteries installed? Will something blow up? Do I need to disconnect the batteries to avoid draining them when plugged into phantom powered DI?

Side note: Looks like the settings pictured for Dan Lutz's Neo Soul and Overdrive Rock sounds are reversed on Aguilar's Tone Hammer settings page.

Pretty sure that if you have a DI line with Phantom power, it just defaults to using Phantom Power. I leave the batteries in and have never had a an issue when running phantom power.

That's what the SansAmp BDDI does, I would asume the TH does the same thing. No info on the Aguilar site? I've been thinking of using a TH as a pre to my poweramp then to cabs, I'm using the BDDI but I have to boost everything to get the amp to light up. Aguilar toutes the TH to be able to drive any Poweramp.
